Red tide in Cardiff, California causes bioluminescence ocean waves. There were no color enhancements made to this video. In real life, the color is a bit more green. Filmed by Franz Krachtus, Sept. 2011

Upon many requests, here is the equipment used info:

Nikon D7000

Nikon 70-200 F2.8 Lens

Kata DR467i Camera Backpack (very crucial because nothing falls out into the sand)

PNY Optima Memory Cards (the lock enables constantly when inserting--not sure if that is a Nikon thing but my other cards don't do that)

iPhone 4 as a flashlight and to text people how cool this event is.

Third Rail Mobility Powercase (to keep my iPhone juiced up)

Cleverwraps to keep the sand and water out of my iphone.

Bogen tripod with fluid head to pan smoothly across.

Cobian Sandals to get from the rocky shore to the beach. (I had a bad foot injury and they really help me walk)

Caffe latte I made right before with beans from West Coast Roasting Company. (I had a huge project due that night and without the extra boost I would not have been able to stay that long)

Adobe Lightroom (that was mainly used for the photographs

Apple Mac & Quicktime for compressing and uploading the video

A big thanks to all those companies who make these great products that make my life either easier or more fun!
